In 1963, Tulane's athletics director and bookstore manager jointly decided it was time to make a change in mascots, away from their original surfing Pelican. When they made the change, they hired none other than Angelus Pacific's Arthur Evans, considered the GOAT in mascot design circles. He did not disappoint, coming up with Tulane's Green Wave, printed here holding a pennant, on an incredibly comfortable light blue heather tee.
