The goal of this educational activity is to understand common methodologies for detecting sources of risk, participating in error and risk investigations, and implementing changes in pharmacy practice. Identifying and preventing medication errors is a significant challenge in all health care settings. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians must be equipped to handle these challenges effectively. Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to discuss the pre safety evaluations and list 4 strategies that can be employed in the pharmacy to help reduce medication errors. The activity is designed to enhance patient outcomes and professional development without promoting the financial interests of a proprietary business.
