Description

This coffee is sourced from family-owned farms organized around an export company called PT. AgroTropic Nusantara (AGTN), which has been working with producers in the Kerinci region since 2007. The company focuses on sustainable practices and improving the livelihoods of local farmers. AGTN also collaborates with producers to protect the surrounding environment by using their coffee farms as a buffer for the Kerinci Seblat National Park. The farms are located in Kerinci District, Jambi, Sumatra, Indonesia, at altitudes ranging from 1300 to 1600 meters above sea level. The coffee is grown in volcanic loam soil by 680 smallholder farmers. The beans are wet hulled and sun-dried, with a harvest period from June to December. The varieties include Borbon, Catimor, Gayo, and S Lini 795.
