Description
Our first stop will be in Materuni, a village on the southern edge of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. We'll spend our time working on humanitarian projects and teaching English to students at a local school. Afterward, we'll hike to the Materuni waterfalls and enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool below. Today, we begin what brought us all together: our nine-day trek to the summit of 19,341-foot Mount Kilimanjaro. We'll hike through diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests to alpine deserts, before reaching the summit at dawn. After descending the mountain, we'll return to town to finish any remaining service projects. Next, we'll head to the world-famous Serengeti for a safari adventure, observing wildlife such as lions, elephants, and giraffes in their natural habitat. Finally, we'll visit Pangani Beach to relax and enjoy the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
