Steinberg, one of the most celebrated artists in “n”New Yorke’s” history, created this drawing in 1969, for a publicity campaign that celebrated a simple truth: that our publication is “a magazine for people who read.” Fair enough. But, thanks to contributors like Steinberg, the drawings and covers have always been a central attraction, too.
