This naturally occurring hybrid combines traits from Rosa banksiae and Rosa laevigata. Discovered in 1850 by botanist Robert Fortune during his explorations in China, Fortuniana produces abundant clusters of fragrant, pure-white flowers up to two inches wide. Blooms appear profusely throughout spring along gracefully arching stems adorned with semi-evergreen glossy green leaves.
